NVG & Farmworker Foundation Pledge Support for Vaccine Rollout for Agricultural Workers
The Napa Valley Grapegrowers (NVG) and Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation (FWF) pledge their support for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout for agricultural workers in Napa County. Napa County recently announced the start of vaccine rollout for Tier 1B, making vineyard and winery workers eligible for signing up to receive vaccines.
In support of St. Helena Hospital Foundation’s proven commitment to the ag community and to the community-at-large during these challenging times, the FWF has pledged $10,000 to their COVID-19 vaccine program, in addition to providing bilingual volunteer support on site.
“We are grateful to partner once again with the Farmworker Foundation to serve the needs of some of our most vulnerable community members. This is an extension of an early partnership to meet the needs of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated Glen Newhart, President & CEO, St. Helena Hospital Foundation.
NVG has also committed to supporting Napa County’s efforts by providing almost 60 hours of staff volunteer time at the Expo and County office sites each week.
“Beyond meeting the state’s eligibility criteria, Napa County’s farmworkers have worked through the pandemic, and we are proud to see that the essential labor they have provided—ensuring our community’s continued economic stability—is being honored with access to vaccines through St. Helena Hospital Foundation and Napa County’s efforts,” said Sonya DeLuca, Associate Director at Napa Valley Grapegrowers and Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation.
