Discover the forefront of sustainable viticulture at the Napa Valley Grapegrowers Organic Winegrowing Conference, a pioneering event leading the charge towards a greener future for Napa Valley's vineyards.
The conference will begin at Frog's Leap Winery, Napa Valley’s first certified organic vineyard, with our keynote speaker, Albert Straus, the pioneering mind behind Straus Family Creamery, and an esteemed organic dairy farmer. Hear firsthand the tales of triumph, challenges, and invaluable experiences as we envision a future harmonizing quality and environmental stewardship. Following the keynote address, immerse yourself in three distinct vineyard site visits. At Tres Sabores*, discover the harmony between vineyards and songbirds; at Grgich Hills Estate, witness the artistry of organic vineyard floor management; and at Yount Mill Vineyards, delve into the intricacies of composting practices and fostering beneficial predators. Each visit promises to bridge theoretical knowledge with tangible applications, offering invaluable insights into sustainable viticulture. Conclude the day with a wine reception back at Frog's Leap Winery, where opportunities to network and engage in further discussions with presenters abound. * An additional Spanish songbird presentation will be held at Tres Sabores at 3:00pm. It is free to attend for all Napa County Farmworkers, register here. |
