Fostering the Next Generation

Napa Valley is "the" place for wine and viticulture

You've set your sights on wine and viticulture, but how do you learn more about the Napa Valley industry? Where do you begin? How can you learn about job opportunities?

It can be overwhelming to know where to begin, and the Napa Valley Grapegrowers is here to assist. We know our future is dependent on young talent, like you, so we've listed opportunities that can help you get involved, whether you're in high school, college, a recent graduate, or already starting your career. View the opportunities below!

High School Students:

The Patrick Foley Fields of Opportunity Summer Mentor Program

Fields of Opportunity was created in partnership with the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation, NVUSD and NVEF, to connect high school students with wine industry leaders to explore rewarding career options in their own backyard.

Selected students have an opportunity to work with Napa Valley Grapegrowers throughout the summer to learn various aspects of the vineyard business as well as soft-skills career training. Intern opportunities are paid and could include, but are not limited to, the vit tech team, irrigation department, tasting room, office, vineyards, or winery production.

College Students:

University Outreach Program

We're enthusiastic to work with our university partners to share Napa Valley viticulture and enology practices with students in a variety of ways.

NVG on the Road
Let us come to you! We'd love to come to your educational institution and share the great work of the Napa Valley Grapegrowers. From our history as a region, to the Ag Preserve, and tips for emerging wine professionals.

Student Tours
You can come to us! We've  hosted the California Polytechnic University's Wine and Viticulture Department here in Napa for a two-day educational tour introducing students to the unique farming practices we have in the Napa Valley.
It's a great opportunity to show students that the Napa Valley is "the" place for wine and viticulture. Get your school involved! Email us if your school would be interested in a class presentation or  introductory, educational tour hosted by the Napa Valley Grapegrowers. Submit a interest form.
