Paso Adelante

Paso Adelante... step forward

Paso Adelante, launched by the Napa Valley Grapegrowers (NVG), is a growing network of emerging leaders across Napa Valley’s wine industry -- young professionals, led by young professionals. The group offers a welcoming space for mentorship, learning, and collaboration, supporting those building their careers in viticulture, winemaking, marketing, sales, hospitality, and beyond.

Throughout the year, Paso Adelante hosts Connect & Cultivate events that bring together peers from across the Napa Valley to share ideas, exchange experiences, and build lasting connections. Each gathering includes a professional development element designed to foster confidence, leadership, and career growth.

Paso Adelante embodies NVG’s commitment to education, community, and sustainability — ensuring that the next generation of Napa Valley’s winegrowing community is informed, connected, and inspired.

Fostering Napa Valley’s Next Generation

From the classroom to the vineyard, NVG supports the next generation at every stage — inspiring students and professionals alike to build a future rooted in Napa Valley’s values of stewardship and excellence.

High School Students:

Fields of Opportunity

The Fields of Opportunity Summer Mentor Program connects Napa Valley high school students with the local wine industry, offering meaningful career exposure and professional development.

Led by the Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation, created in partnership with NVG, Napa Valley Unified School District, and Napa Valley Education Foundation, participants come from diverse academic backgrounds and programs, including alternative and independent study. The mentorship program offers an impactful way to introduce students to the wine industry, sharing knowledge and passion for the field with the next generation through support and skill-building.

The program aims to place each qualified student and supports growth in Napa Valley’s wine industry workforce.
