The Growing Conditions Report (GCR), produced in cooperation with Pacific Geodata, Picovale Weather Service, Pina Vineyard Management, and Silverado Farming Company, contains maps, tables, and graphs depicting regional Napa climate data and provides a countywide overview of general growing conditions.
The report employs three simple and widely understood climate measurements known to influence grapevine development, ripening, and crop loads: growing degree days (GDD), total frost hours, and rainfall.
The GCR was started in 2010 with the intention of becoming a tool that would allow grapegrowers to compare conditions across vintages. Over time, a multi-year collection of reports will add to our understanding of regional climate conditions and help to identify climate trends.
The reports are available for NVG grower and vineyard manager members as a benefit of membership. If you are not a member and would like access to this or previous years' reports, please contact info@napagrowers.org to inquire about membership.
