2012 PROGRAMS
NVG Farmworker Education Workshop: March 1 & 2
A 2-day comprehensive educational program where vineyard workers learn first-hand about increasing quality in Napa Valley vineyards, gain valuable skills in management and leadership, and are able to exchange information with workshop presenters and experts. Sessions are taught in both the vineyard and the classroom.
Practical Viticulture Series: Train the Trainer – Forklift Certification: February 3
The Practical Viticulture Series is a training program for vineyard equipment operators. The 2012 series will provide training instruction and certification for vineyard tractor, forklift and ATV operators.
Napa County Farmworker Field Days: March 16, June 8, July 13
Farmworker Field Days will be held in conjunction with the Napa County Viticultural Farm Advisor and the University of California Cooperative Extension. These sessions will include a variety of hands-on vineyard training sessions, classroom seminars and field trips.
Día de la Familia: July 22
Día de la Familia will provide Napa County vineyard workers and their families with access to educational programs provided by various community organizations.
2012 Viticultural Fair – Spanish Viticulture Program: November 6 & 7
The 2012 Viticultural Fair’s (Vit Fair) Spanish Viticulture Program will provide continuing education and leadership training for farmworker, Pesticide Control Applicators (PCA), and Pesticide Applicators (PA). It is held in conjunction with Vit Fair, the North Coast’s premier viticulture focused trade exhibit, showcasing the applications, technology, and products that advance the quality of our winegrapes and the sustainability of our industry.
