Napa County Farmworker Housing Centers
Farmworker housing facilities in Napa County provide clean, safe and affordable housing for migrant farmworkers. These publicly owned or leased facilities are supported by the commitment and effort of government and non-profit agencies, the wine industry, and community citizens.
THE FACILITIES
There are currently three publicly owned or leased Farmworker Housing Centers operated by the Napa Valley Housing Authority.
By county ordinance no facility may sleep more than 60 workers or be open more than 330 days a year. The Centers operate on a schedule that leaves at least one facility open every month. Farmworkers pay $11.50 per night, which includes a shared room and three meals each day except Sunday. Each Center is staffed with a manager and cook who live on site with their families. The larger facilities also have an assistant cook/janitorial person who lives off site. Each has 60 beds.
