NAPA, Calif. (August 30, 2010) – Napa Valley Grapegrowers 3rd annual Harvest STOMP on Saturday, August 28 allowed grapegrowers and fans of the Napa Valley to mingle at the stunning Hudson Vineyards in Napa Valley’s Carneros appellation, known for its rustic, authentic setting featuring 2000 acres of wild land. 650 guests attended the sold out event, which garnered a waiting list of more than 100 people. STOMP is an authentic food and wine celebration and gathering for Napa Valley wine enthusiasts to celebrate the imminent harvest season.
Celebrated Designer Erin Martin created interactive auction lot displays and messaging that accentuated the rustic and natural setting of Hudson Vineyards and the core essence of farm operations. Vignettes featuring live farm animals, barns covered in red bandanas, murals of Napa Valley history, boats supported by hay barrels, stuffed empty wine bottles, tractors and other farm equipment created a truly unique setting. A sustainability demonstration area also allowed guests to learn how sheep, bees and raptors in the vineyards contribute to sustainable best practices.
Exhibition style cuisine included wood-fired pizzas, whole roasted salmon, Mexican carnitas, tacos, and oysters on the half shell. Other festivities included live music by a local Mexican trio and the evening’s headliner: Red Meat, a honky-tonk band mixing bluegrass, country, western and swing.
Additional STOMP activities included an “Instant Cellar” raffle with a chance to win 100 bottles such as selections from Araujo Estate, BOND, Harlan Estate, Lewis Cellars, Ovid, Keever, and Staglin – a $12,000 value, as well as a live auction featuring exclusive Napa Valley excursions such a California fly-fishing trip and a Thanksgiving feast for 12 with personal home delivery.
Tickets for STOMP 2011 will be available in January 2011
